Over the past 3 years of doing this business, I have dealt with clients from all walks of life. It is interesting to take note that it is NOT just ladies who go for eyebrow microblading.
I have done the procedure for some men as well!
To do eyebrow microblading well, I had to attend specialized training classes and do lots of practice. I practiced on synthetics skin and mannequins’ heads - burning the midnight oil after my son was asleep.
I learnt from masters from Korea, Vietnam, London and Europe. I also trained with the world renowned microblading school Phiacademy.
Here are the 5 things I learnt after shaping more than 1000 pairs of eyebrows over the years:
#1: Eyebrow Microblading Is Not Easy
To draw tiny feather-like strokes on the eyebrows require intense concentration. It is quite tiring at times. So in order to give my best to all my clients, I take regular breaks to rest up before I proceed to do with another client.
Because of this, I cap the number of clients I serve per day to a maximum of 3 only.
This is also the main reason why requesting me to do your eyebrows is slightly more pricey.
You will get the advantage of my exclusive time and comprehensive experience.
#2: Eyebrow Microblading Can Be Taught
I expanded my business and has slowly taught about a dozen students so far on the fine art and science of eyebrow microblading.
It is a skill that can be taught and learnt if you are passionate about making ladies look good and feel good.
I am happy to share with you that all my staff are experienced and well-trained. I have personally conducted their training and monitored how they worked on our clients’ eyebrows.
Despite the fact that your new eyebrows can last for up to 2 years, Jo Artysan still receives strong continuous demand due to our quality service that spreads via word of mouth and referrals.

Beyond that, I personally know that this service has boosted the confidence of ladies (and some men too!)

I believe that beautiful eyebrows makes it easier to gaze into them.
In this social media age, it is unfortunate and sad that sometimes beauty is only skin-deep. It is the beautiful instagram shots that will get lots of likes.
It is a reality that first impressions really do count and we sometimes have to play that game in order to get equal footing.
But let’s play the game in a smart manner and not get too hung up on the likes.
It is not a sin to look good and feel good at the same time.
#5: Eyebrow Microblading Is Here To Stay
I first learnt about eyebrow microblading when I was still studying. Back then, the demand was still low. When I decided to do this full time, I took the steps to acquire the knowledge and skillset to do eyebrow microblading well.
Over the past 2-3 years, I have seen the interest in this process skyrocket. There is a strong demand for beautiful eyebrows.
It is also one of the reasons why I am able to open my Jo Artysan Microblading Studio & Academy in the heart of Orchard.
This is not a random fashion trend. Techniques are constantly being perfected and tools are always being refined to provide a great experience for clients.
As such, I also provide training for ladies who are interested to acquire this skill.
When you are armed with this knowledge - you can choose to open your own business or join one of the many beauty studios that are in need of such fine eyebrow microblading artists.
